Ola DOTJES,
Something about the project with the video screen upstairs/downstairs...
We, Dovile, Andy, Sven, Sophie, Tchieu and Suzan, discussed the next:
If we put the monitor and a camera downstairs and give it a title like 'mirror', that it shows people it really is a work. So they would walk up to it for serious!
And if they walk up, we will react on it upstairs with repeating their movements and face expressions. We also thought it would be nice to put something on that the person downstairs is wearing. Like glasses, a hat, same color of the t-shirt... So it really works like a mirror.
An interactive way to also attract people to our fantastic loop room!
So, ya, let us know...

I think this can really work!! at least, I think I would walk up to it.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBut concerning the stuff that the "mirrored person" is wearing: do you see it as the "mirroring person" preparing a whole stock of objects in which they could pick something that could match the mirrored person?
or by "borrowing" stuff from the visitors in the room?
or maybe this can be done in a low-tech way, such as with another quickly cutting off a pair of glasses out of carton? (to make a red t-shirt we could write "red" on the carton t-shirt, etc)
the idea slightly changed already, we talked this thtough on friday.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWe will have 4 or 5 objects on a table. The objects come with a manual. So every action that you perform downstairs gets a reaction from the one that is upstairs.
A sort of choreography...
On screen you will see the person and the objects but it's about the objects. Not so much about the person and his/her actions.
